Meet Marni Martens

Marni is not your average instructor; she’s a seasoned research practitioner with a multidisciplinary background in market research and human-centered design research. With over two decades of experience across various business phases, from strategy to marketing, Marni brings both a creative and analytical lens to all her work. 

Marni’s Notable Roles and Achievements: 

  •  B.A. in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago
  • Certifications in Market Research from RIVA Training Institute
  • Certification in User Experience from Bentley University 
  • Founder of Martens Consulting, a multidisciplinary research practice
  • Senior research roles at Pearson for over a decade

Meet Jim Newswanger

Your Guide to Research Rockstar’s Quantitative Data Analysis course

Jim brings over two decades of experience in primary quantitative and qualitative research initiatives to the table. A true strategic researcher, Jim has vast experience in all phases of primary research from methodological planning to executive-ready results. Jim’s track record includes leading the "Jam" research program at IBM, an award-winning initiative that involved online discussions and text analysis to identify themes, sentiments, and influencers. His impressive journey includes roles at ZS Associates, SRBI New York, and co-founding e-health startup Cozint.

Jim’s Notable Roles & Achievements: 

  • Ph.D. in Applied Statistics (PREM Program) from Penn
  • Executive MBA from Quantic
  • Leadership Role, IBM Jam research program
  • Proud member of AAPOR, the American Psychological Association, and the Digital Analytics Association
