T-Test

A statistical test that compares a sample mean with a hypothesized mean for a population of interest. The test is appropriate for small sample sizes (less than 30) or when the population variance is unknown (often the case in market research). The test is also designed to compare the differences between two actual means (from two different samples). For testing three or more means, see ANOVA.
