Ordinal Data

Data that gives an order or direction such as from rating and rank order questions (e.g., satisfaction level, top 3 most important selection criteria, etc.). While ordinal data indicates the order, it does not specify the distance or magnitude of difference between the levels. This means that while we can say one item is higher or lower than another, we cannot quantify by how much.
