Convenience Sample

An example of nonprobability sampling. For example, in consumer research, doing a survey of people who filled out product registration forms would be a convenience sample. The challenge with such samples is that we don’t know how if the data is skewed and if so, by how much. All we know is that some portion of the population is excluded (e.g., those who did not send in a product registration form).
