Structured Data

Structured data is a data set with a high degree of organization and precise, known variable types, allowing it to be easily summarized and analyzed using statistics. For example, data collected using a questionnaire that required respondents to select answers from a predetermined set of options collects structured data. However, in the same questionnaire, there may be an open-ended question that collects text responses; this data is unstructured.
